Ian Knight – CEO
Ian joined CommonTime in 2008 as CEO, responsible for shaping CommonTime’s global growth strategy.
Ian has over 20 years experience working in the software industry. Prior to joining CommonTime he was Global Sales Director for Talgentra, a collections management software business that was eventually sold to Experian in 2007 in a multi-million pound deal. Ian has been part of many successful management teams, including Bluestar Solutions, Blaze Software and TETRA plc (SAGE). He has been instrumental in revenue growth to enable the eventual sale of two of those companies to large multinationals.
Ian started his career as a Chartered Civil Engineer graduating with a BEng in Civil Engineering. Following several years in the field, Ian completed a Postgraduate qualification in Accounting, Finance, Marketing and Management Studies. In his spare time Ian enjoys deep sea diving, spending time with his 5 children, and has a passion for cars.
Rob Colver – Customer Services Director
Rob is one of the founding members of CommonTime and is directly responsible for CommonTime’s UK and US post-sales Support teams. He has been instrumental in shaping CommonTime’s post sales support structure and for building the company’s global reputation for exemplary product support.
Rob started his career at IBM, selling 3x systems before moving to a similar role with Wang. He was then recruited by Minitech as Sales Director, working closely with Nigel Mackrill before founding CommonTime in 1993.
Rob is a graduate of Oxford University and sits on the CommonTime Board, representing interests of the founding shareholders. In his spare time Rob can be found working on his farm and enjoying spending time with his grandchildren.

James Tomkinson – Digital Marketing Executive
From his first exposure to Marketing as a work experience trainee at Pirelli when he was 16, James has always had a love for this side of Business. He has been involved in Marketing continuously since then and has successfully completed an undergraduate (with Politics) and Masters Degree in the subject.
James has worked for large, Intercontinental Companies involved in varying industries, from Banking, Nuclear Engineering and International Wholesale. He is now the Digital Marketing Executive for Commontime utilising all of his skills to help this innovative, bright young company.
Outside of work James is a keen musician of multiple instruments and is a qualified Tennis coach who can often be found on the Tennis Court somewhere around Derbyshire.
